EXTREME COLD: MICHIGAN, THE FREEZER STATE
I ran into my Uncle Karl, who lives down in the del,
By the size of his stomach, I knew that Karl wintered well,
Taters and fried cakes,
Is just what it takes,
To survive winters in Michigan, if that is where you dwell.

NOT HARDER TIMES, WHEN I GOT DIMES
My net worth is a pocket full of dimes,
I have lived through much harder times,
I'd eat some begged bread,
Felt myself well feed,
For more bread, I'd do all sorts of crimes.

I AM A SMALL SPIDER
I am a small spider that got washed away,
Now I am stuck on the ground, in the wet clay,
So I'll swim like a duck,
Climb up from the muck,
Build me a web, and there my eggs I will lay.

WINTER WOED ME GOOD
It is the winter of my woe,
It got so cold I froze my toe,
Can't pay for heat, I'm out of doe,
The roof caved in because of snow,
I'm burning books, so heat I'll know.

BANGING IN THE WOODS, A HUNTER'S TAIL
Went out to the woods to bang me a beast,
I sat downwind, where he'd smell me the least,
He snuck up tippy toe,
He was near, I didn't know,
Out of me the beast made a feast.
