SPARKLERS AND THE DIRE COLD
The winter is so dire; I got out my sparklers from last Fourth of July,
I lit them, and they reminded me of summer months, and those thoughts made me cry,
Perhaps, my wicked ways I must mend,
To save my life from a frostbite end,
Perhaps, I'll not change at all, and wait through the dire, until the robins fly.

I CALENDER COUNT ONLY NICE DAYS
I try to forget every cold, sunless day,
And, it's almost the first day of May,
But, this year I remember just one,
Warm day with bright sun,
So, the first day of this year it will stay.

THE SNOW SPRAWL MADE ME BAWL FOR MY ROSES ON THE WALL
This winter has been both big and tall,
The snow was deep and great was it's sprawl,
It was the longest winter I recall,
I think of my roses and start to bawl,
For I only have those up on the wall.
