THE SQUIRRELS AND THE NERD

My backpack was full of candy bars, filled with chocolate cream,

The squirrels that were following me, had developed a scheme,

I was a nerd, who wore tin braces,

They tied together, my shoelaces,

I tripped and fell down, and my backpack they swarmed, like a bee team.

MY FOOD, LIKE MY MIND, IS SIMPLE

My grocery cart was full of real cinnamon, thin sticks,

Used for flavoring cocoa, and occasional, tongue licks,

What is the big deal?

With planning a meal?

Meals are a fantastic, big easy, with my simple picks.

ROBIN HAS A PLAN

I traveled far to reach Michigan, I am a robin red breast,

I desperately need to find a mate; I really need to nest,

I'll soon be full of robin eggs,

Once laid, I'll watch for beaks and legs,

Once I've kicked the last baby out, I'll finally have time to rest.

THE EARLY CHRISTMAS TREE

I decided to get my Christmas tree early,

Because by Christmas they'll all be gone, surely,

I cut it down in the woods,

And against my outhouse it stoods,

But it lost the needles when the fall winds went whirly.
